You can run SQL on TB's of data if you throw fast enough nodes at it, it's not purely a data size issue, but more of a scale-out issue. Things like joins and foreign key constraints can be very slow on widely distributed relational database

Star Wars Episode 1 and 2 contain exact characters and other creative designs from Episode 4/5/6. Not "like" them, not derivative of them, but actually them (e.g. Yoda). So yeah, that would be a direct copy.

But 70% for 1 year is an amazing price break when you think about it. Run your project for a month, analyse the usage, and reserve that same capacity for a whole year, for the price of only 3 more months usage! If your project has fairly co

Not sure what your lab's trying to be backwards compatible with (NFS has had those mount options since at least 1989), but whatever works for you :) It's a mount option on the client, not the server, so maybe you can change it yourself. ht

You're right, if we took this attitude in civil engineering or medical science then it'd be a problem, but hey, it's not those things, so why waste the time, money and effort that it would need? You say "obviously not every web project is a

NFS has 2 mount types, soft and hard. http://tldp.org/HOWTO/NFS-HOWTO/client.html Soft mounts report errors immediately, hard mounts hang. And for permissions, NFS provides everything under the sun that you could possibly need via ACLs. N

Depending on the case, the judge can order that the loser pays more if they feel the case was fraudulent, misleading, etc. See Samsung vs Apple, initially Apple didn't have to pay Samsung's fees, but after Apple annoyed the judge with their

There's a couple of patently untrue statements inside the press release, like "As the first organization in the world to leverage ARM servers for commercial use...", but the move is another sign of the growth of ARM servers. To me, the real

Thanks, will write up what I've found after a bit more testing. One quick extra, you don't have the outgoing port allowed in the firewall settings for Ubuntu's apt-key to add new trusted keys, using the hkp service (port 11371), it would be

My initial thought after signing up, is that it's a shame that I can only deploy a trial server with 512MB of RAM, that pretty much rules out testing any non-trivial application?

What stops you inserting your own choice of extra payouts into the game history? This would make people believe you were paying out at a higher rate than you actually are. I'm not suggesting you're doing that, just wondering what stops it,

On initial glance, and I may be a million miles off here, it feels like the history section which shows payouts is rather redundant. It seems like there's nothing to stop the casino inserting their own played games (either real but fixed, o

You want a CEO's interests to be aligned with the company's, which is why most CEOs are given share options that will be worth something in 3 - 5 years, large bonuses based on success, and so on. Steve Jobs cashed out when Apple fired him,

Personally I think it's exactly the reason why you don't want your CEO to have a cushion - he doesn't really care, it doesn't really matter to him that his former company is going down the toilet as he's cashed out long ago.

Yes you can wipe the SSD and replace it with Ubuntu (or with some fiddling, Debian). It's what Chrubuntu does, you can even choose to install to an SD card leaving the existing OS in place. http://chromeos-cr48.blogspot.co.uk/

There's a comment in the post: "As of right now, it ends up that about 75% of our code is C++ and 17% is Python (link) since it turns out that a lot of BIND 10 is performance-critical." Which could easily be taken the wrong way. I believe t
