I remember talking about the iBot with a wheelchair bound friend when it came out. His response was "the people who designed this have obviously never been bound to a wheelchair". I think I was in 9th or 10th grade at the time, so

"those at the top of the game got there because of grit determination and little to do with talent. " I think I agree with your sentiment here but want to clarify and see if you agree. There's still an EXTREMELY high talent b

I used to mess around on exchangel.co, but mainly I'm interested in placing long bets which just require some patience rather than trading in the artificial market. I think there's another one out there too that does start up trad

Elgin James was always the most interesting character in that scene to me: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elgin_James I met Elgin a few times outside of Righteous Jams shows and he was always super friendly to a kid th

Math is certainly not for everyone, but I actually found that once I started diving into pure math (NOT what was taught in my school's math curriculum) it was a whole new world. Did your school actually teach pure math? I bet a lot of

I'm curious about how you came to your answer and what led you there? Were you testing a pre-supposed hypothesis that confirmed itself?

Thank you. I hear suicide referred to as "selfish" so often that I can hardly understand what it means. Ascribing value judgements on people suffering from very personal diseases doesn't help and may actually prevent folks wi

I haven't thought about how this affects car insurance. Who has the liability for collisions? Manufacturer? Owner? Last mechanic who serviced it?

Is "autocar" a thing? The ambiguity between automatic/automobile/autonomous really makes me hope a better word surfaces. Self-driving car is a bit too long.

Not really understanding how the wikipedia community operates, why were you irritated by the signature and how was writing the comments such an irreconcilable wrong? Were they inappropriate comments?

Awesome! One of my many unfinished projects was a networked version of The Russian Campaign so that my dad and I could play together. Looks like there's a Vassal module and we can finally get those games going.

The military has a history of using video games as training tools for soldiers. Modded SNES units were used for rifle training and various other games have been used for tactics. The author's description of his reactions suggests that

I was very wary of the "unlimited vacation policy" at my new company and asked about it during interviews. Most interviewers agreed that it could cause people to not feel free to take vacation, but that the company really meant it

I can't speak to the other games, but similar to Chess and Go, I love Diplomacy because there is zero chance involved in the game. Nothing ever comes down to a dice roll or coin flip.

I would hate that, gives too much strength to the southern powers. Italy was my favorite country to play as. You absolutely need a strong ally, but if you don't get one, you can be a thorn in everyone's side. I only really enjoy p

Who gets to decide what is harmful? Do you simply defer to the courts? Do you think Google holds a larger, equal, or smaller responsibility than the content provider who is actually hosting this "harmful" information? In this case

I think placing the onus on google for this is the wrong precedent and I think it speaks to the public and the court's misunderstanding of what a search engine does. If this man had problems with his debts being online, he should have

You've obviously thought a lot about hiring practices. Do you think hiring for "culture fit" is always bad or do you think most companies have a poor interpretation of what a "culture fit" is?
