7 years ago I’ve deployed the first version of the REST API service written in Rust. We had multiple deployments in consecutive 5 years. For 2 years this service runs without any updates. There were just a couple of failures in the first 2

Why you need a few of them? GPU mining is completely dead. Try different countries - there will be delivery cost, but it will not be so comparable to the price.

And for me it's quite the contrary - the description on HN says nothing about how it actually works, it looks just like whining and flaming and bragging.

Today I’ve published ngx-collection: collection state management service for Angular. This tool saves me a lot of time - I hope it can be useful for other people as well :) Built on top of NgRx ComponentStore.

Humans are faaar too smart to even try mimicking their behavior. All you can hope for is to make sure that the intended usage works fine.

I’m here just to say how much I love Playwright :) Best features for me: - Auto-waiting - it is a BRILLIANT feature! - Shared authentication; - Supported browsers list; - API testing; - Tests generator (with recognition of data-test-id attr

We add data-test-id, data-test-name, or data-test-value attributes (depending on the case) to our elements, and selectors are rock-solid.

GitHub is also owned by Microsoft. Playwright is Open Source - the worst thing that will happen if Microsoft will kill it - you’ll be able to use the latest release until you find some replacement.

I’m not choosing a browser here, I’m saying that Chrome is not repeating the most fatal mistake of IE: implementing many APIs in their own way, often very different from the standard. Until recently, Safari was repeating the IE approach, bu

What is wrong with this approach? They are not breaking the standards as IE did. It was the only issue with IE. What is an alternative - always wait while some API is implemented by other browsers first? It's not their fault they are f

You can. There are Source Maps and prettifiers for the minified code - all you need to do is just open it and read (for example, in Chrome DevTools).

Could you please confirm it using caniuse.com? I don't see red squares often in the “Chrome” column there (only some really ancient versions).

well, mine works fine (with multiple hours of heavy usage), the card itself is quite cold (48-65 C), but the news is worrying, for sure... Gigabyte promised 4 years warranty - I hope they’ll keep their promise.

By “biggest” I meant “giving the biggest impact”. I don't know if it's the slowest part.

Rust compiler does all the Rust’s magic (where the borrow checker is the biggest part). This magic is really important and helpful, and it's better to do it during compilation, not in runtime (for huge performance benefits).

And kids. My daughter is using her iPad extensively, and not only for games - she is drawing a lot, and her current CPU is already pushing the limits in some sophisticated drawing apps.

Different workloads require different tools. I work with Rust and TypeScript projects - MBP M1 Pro 32Gb RAM is 110% enough.

Nice way of arguing: “this is nothing but a strawman” - and 0 counter-arguments, 0 quotes, 0 attempts to be polite. Brilliant.

Data transfer speed is an important reason. iPhone 14 Pro can create huge videos and photos, and transferring them using Lightning is too slow.

Is it ok to spend the same time on motorcycles, paragliding, mountaineering, snowboarding, and so on? There are divorces because of motorcycles and other addictive passions. These activities are much riskier and more expensive.

Well, on MBP M1 (Ventura) it drops from 63 to 15 sometimes (levels loading?).
