Lol, compare modern music with trash we had in 80s, 90s. Even nowadays' pop trash sounds significantly better than old hits made on synthesizers. Everything evolves, as I said. Maybe you just forgot low-quality movies of previous year

One example doesn't mean there's one good "modern" drama movie. I don't have to remind them all for you.

So you want to say that Shutter Island is a bad example of drama? It's all just old-farts rants, nothing more. Everything is evolving. In old movies actors play often too dumb, just few of them have good examples of how to play a role.

No, it's not so difficult task and not even expensive. I don't think every project really needs it, though. But external db backups - they are ridiculously cheap and every project needs them.

Maybe because they had dozens of failures and DDOS outages? Why they have to keep their prices so low - because of reputation. Price is the only attractive thing in services like this.

It's because price of your site downtime is insignificant. DO (and many other "bulk vps" services) is only suitable for projects like this. When 1 hour of downtime cost much more than year of hosting, you will be ready to pay

Not any language have such smart compiler, perfect errors handling system, "cargo" crates system. Not in every language refactoring is so nice that you can do it absolutely without fear.

They should not forget that their money-making games are getting older every year - better to start creating some new "money-maker".

It is great for Mac users. Firefox 67+ is faster than Chrome and works flawlessly on MBP 2014. Some "Mac users" also use dev tools, and Firefox is better than Safari in this aspect.

GCE not even mentioned in the "Impact" section, only Google own services. Maybe it's all they care about when work on GCP.

If you are looking for high availability - Google Cloud Platform network is the best. In some other things AWS is better, but GCP network quality is awesome.

I love Linode, their support is awesome, their CPUs on "Dedicated CPU Plans" are great (by benchmarks - similar to GCP n1 CPU), disks io bandwidth just amazing. But I had to leave them because their network is not so reliable. It

It's just greed, not some wisdom. When data is lost - it's just lost. Maybe AWS will pay some compensation because of their promises, but money not always can solve problems of missing data.

And even when you use "mature" cloud, use another one for your backups. (I'm not trying to blame author of that tweet, we all make mistakes and I think DO should give access to backups even when account is locked)

Only reason to share this not-so-outstanding library is "it's written in Rust"? Rust is my favorite language, but it becomes silly - every day some not-so-outstanding copy of existing tool in Rust on the first page of HN.
