Looking at the screenshots.. is the "wake up call" concept just a cover to get a phone sex service on an app store?

Isn't Ostrom just saying that with effective regulations informed by local knowledge, it is possible for shared resources to be successfully managed? The "tragedy of the commons" is just what happens in the absence of effecti

Hopefully a new governance structure will emerge and allow for a better path forward. As a layman who has only used AI to package a couple things on NixOS for personal use, I would think that LLM agents are perfect for taking over most of t

Unless your target market is a small niche of hackers, then yeah the vast majority would pay $20. Just look at how many pay for music and video streaming services, when it's trivial to download anything for free from illicit sources.

Looks like they've both added a lot since then. If I select their worldwide species list in app, I get 38k for Flora and 85k for PlantNet. I just gave them a try for some common trees around Costa Rica that I'm confident in iden

In Thailand? I guess it depends where you are. I've been in 20+ provinces and speak some Thai, but it's still so much easier using grab/bolt/lineman/muvmi and not having to explain the directions.

The problem isn't missing app functionality that anyone can build. It's access to proprietary third party services that are too useful to go without. And they're not going to let you build your app to access their services.

I'd love to do this, but sadly I don't see it happening unless my lifestyle significantly changed to the point where I wasn't frequently traveling to new countries. There are just too many very useful services that only work

> It might not be much of an exaggeration to say these two are worth ~$200 billion. It think the vast majority is what the decision to leave says about the overall sentiment at Google, not the value of these two individuals.

I forgot about that.. I'm surprised China allowed them to release that. Surely it will only increase the likelihood and severity of western restrictions on Chinese open models. Unless they see it as a way to stoke anti-AI sentiment i

I doubt any labs will be releasing weights for frontier image models. Why would they want to deal with the amount of bad press they'll get for unsavory porn? Look at what happened to Grok.

If those people recording on their cell phones are going to coordinate and provide mass surveillance to the government, then yes, I would hope most people are against that.

Why would the elites ever agree to that? It's already too easy for those in power to control popular opinion, and only getting easier, so you're not going to get mass protests or revolutions that upset the status quo.
