At the end of the day, the money has to come from somewhere. There's only a handful of companies that make the open source profit game work and last I checked, most of them make their money from B2B deals with support, SLAs, etc. If yo

European nations have provided more aid to Ukraine in total in both absolute and relative terms than the US. Hopefully the irony isn't lost on you when we're talking about controlling the narrative here.

I wouldn't read too much into the title, the closing parts of the article give a much more balanced take on the whole issue. This study disagrees with some previous work and it's unclear which result makes sense and why. As usual,

Vue is built on web standards just as much as Nue is. That is, web standards are there underneath, but both libraries add custom sugar on top. A good example is iterating over list items in Nue [0] and in Vue [1]. Neither is "pure web

I couldn't even begin to count how many bug reports I've seen over the years that start with "when I accidentally double-click foo, bar happens". It might not be an intentional usage pattern, sure, but that doesn't

I think the docs [0] are a good way of evaluating the article's high horse claims, and as far as I looked around, I'm not seeing anything new nor interesting. The author seems to be more or less just reimplementing Vue from scratc

The EOS R8 was released less than a year ago and that output is still capped at 2K and 30 fps. Meanwhile the camera itself shoots 4K at 60 fps (if you go Full HD, you can even shoot 180 fps). So saying it works perfectly is not quite accura

This doesn't fix the problems listed in the article, you'd still only get a 720p 30 fps feed out of a camera that shoots 4K at 60 fps. That thread helps with Zoom not finding the low quality feed to begin with.

This is misleading. You don't get a proper video feed, you get 720p at 30 fps out of a camera that shoots 4K at 60 fps. On top of that, no white balance, no color correction, no etc. My laptop's built in webcam does better than th

You could say the same about any peaceful protest, whether it's this, climate, politics, or etc. I don't have a strong opinion about this specific talk happening, but I think that if you see something that's wrong in the worl

No one here is claiming they're charging that purely for the gas. Of course you have equipment, personnel costs, maintenance, profit margin etc on top. The point is that the cost of the gas is not trivial.

The depending on purity is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, to the point where I would say it's misleading. I don't know the price for xenon off the top of my head, but for a comparison with nitrous oxide, food grade is generall

Isn't Xenon infamous for being ridiculously expensive? It's the best general anesthetic by a mile since it's a noble gas, but we don't use it because the cost would be absurd. While the amounts used here must be small, a

This whole argument is silly. People generally don't go around eating dirt off the ground so how much lead is in dirt doesn't matter. It's alarming because lead is incredibly unhealthy for you.

Still I would rather consume less than more. If half the protein powders manage to not contain alarming levels of toxins I would much rather have those than the ones that do contain toxins. Not really a difficult concept.

There is no amount of lead that's considered safe for consumption. Anything that's not zero is bad for you, doesn't matter what dirt or whatever has in it.

Many countries tick those boxes but aren't anywhere close to doing the same reasonable things with them. The main thing Norway has been blessed with has been smart about it, as opposed to having all of the profits go to private hands.
