I'm mostly guessing here, but I'd say it's because a lot of these companies were probably founded by a couple of mates back in the 8/16-bit Acorn/Commodore/Atari era and just stayed where they were.

Counterpoint, I've been running 4k screens with various scaling (27", 28" and now 43") with kubuntu and now fedora for over 3 years without any issues, using both Intel or AMD cards.

Any company using G Suite has SAML support included, so I don't think any organisation wanting SSO does have deep pockets.

In PHP 7 the correct code should be function foo(?string $bar): void Having `= null` marks the parameter as optional with the default being `null`. Using `?string` means there is no default and you can pass in either a string or nu

SoloKeys have this (I have one from KickStsrter) - https://solokeys.com/products/solo-tap-usb-c-preorder?varian... - they work really well. Been using mine for nearly a year now I think.

Yes, this is we've just done recently. Renaming a column required creating a new one with the new name and saving the same data to both columns for a while before dropping old old column a few weeks later.

The first time I was trying to build Konsole was a bit painful too, they don't really list what the dependencies are. I ended up creating a docker container based off Fedora 30 and added the packages needed to build the app there, then

Couldn't see a link in the post but there seems to be an active GitLab instance here[1]. I've only done a few patches with their previous Phabricator flow and it was a very different experience from the usual GitHub/GitLab wo

This would be something great for GitLab to jump on. A bit reactionary, but would be great for them to show support for a more open payment system.

I bought a 9360 and returned it because of the coil whine, it was so bad that I could hear it over music playing from the laptop. I returned it for a refund and got a 9370 about 8 months later and it has been so much better. No coil whine n

Check out the issue list on gitlab-ce and see if anyone has requested it come to CE. They may have other reasons or they may bring it over if enough people ask. I've seen threads on HN where they've agreed to bring something over

Why not host it on GitLab and set up push mirroring to GitHub? You get the advantages from the extra features that GitLab offers and the extra visibility from GitHub.

Although the demo works, if you just copied part of the text your username isn't taken with it. I think a better way would be to insert the zero-width characters in between the letters and repeat it throughout the text.

It would be great to get a nice Git GUI client for Linux. Hope they can add Linux as a supported platform in the future.

I was really disappointed since the Nexus 5. I'm not sure why Qi charging was removed. Quick charging doesn't replace being able to just put your phone down to charge.
