1. My original comment was that the linked website is trying too hard to be INTP. I mentioned INTP because it has a very specific stereotype and no other word in the English language covers. 2. But because this is HN, SOMEONE is going to sa

I can't stand slatestarcodex or lesswrong. They're not INTP but try really hard to be. And MBPI--because it's based on field observations in the 1910's--is the least politically correct typology.

Sometimes I get the dawning suspicion that everything we're told is the truth is really just consensus reality. And every time we think we get a realization of the truth, it's really just our mind resyncing to consensus reality. A

Actually you might be forgetting something. There is a difference in type between a text buffer and a GUI. A GUI has multiple types of "text buffers" running in parallel .

So GUI is a REPL but with graphical components instead of text buffer. This is what I suspected, but I wanted to make sure.

You have to specify a bunch of information regarding the width, height, color, positioning in the call of the function. There isn't anything analogous to css in programming languages so you're left with a big ball of mud. HTML+css

This is just such a nice language. It's Java but it gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling (unlike Java).

I think I discovered the problem with GUI libraries. They mix configuration with component logic.

No you didn't. This is an emotional problem masquerading as a cognitive one. This happens to me at my three-hour university lectures. Some days I am emotionally tortured and cannot focus at all. Some days I am emotionally healthy and c

Don't. Precision obfuscates more than it increases resolution. You don't want to be precise. You want to increase the resolution of the key ideas being seen. This is also why parables are so popular for teaching: they're lite
