This video is phenomenal for anyone interested in console hacking: http://vimeo.com/18278625 . Skip to 35:00 for the most exciting part - where fail0verflow reveals the PS3's fundamental security flaw.

wouldn't that have been cool. If bitcoin mining could have been done in a way that had practical significance yet also resulted in coins?

Obviously successful startups are lucky. I think the idea of releasing quickly/efficiently is to test the market to see if a larger, more complex product is desired (IOW can you get lucky?). In the example provided, a beta release of

I imagine there's a positive correlation between 'winging it' and being a successful professional athlete - over-thinking is severely detrimental to performing under pressure.

That's exactly what an MBA does. Teaches you to prioritize effectively. It also gives you countless examples of businesses who don't, and the consequences they suffer. Sometimes learning these lessons in the real world can be v

I have an MBA and MS in CS from Arizona (who at the time was ranked top 10 in entrepreneurship). I did not have a focus in the MBA so I could do Computer Science but the entrepreneurship track sounded like a less serious/competitive Y

Would it be possible to sign employees to a contract then? Flip this on it's head. i.e. we're happy to take you on board, but you have to work here for 2 years at X rate.

I didn't read the article thoroughly, but one point to think about is patients may be more likely to visit with a particular doctor if said doctor frequently performs the surgery they believe will help them. I am the perfect example of

As someone who just had occipital nerve decompression surgery due to a whiplash injury, I can say I am very excited for self-driving cars. The amount of scar tissue the surgeon removed from those nerves was horrifying, and it was a relativ

I'll agree with you with respect to laptops. Desktops are a different story. Non-Mac desktops are much cheaper, especially if you choose to build it yourself.

I think 12k or 13k a year is realistic in America for a single person, although it would not be easy surviving on this amount (especially if one has a family). Not in NYC or San Fran, but again that's incentive to work if one wants to

Until we have an easy/efficient way of identifying such folk though (those who are truly capable vs those who are disabled/incapable) the most efficient solution is probably something like a minimum basic income.

One concern I've always had with the idea that the rich "re-invest" in the economy is how much they actually invest in American businesses vs sit on the money or invest abroad. A minimum basic income will assuredly increase
