Hands down one of the best textbooks on a CS topic that I have read. It was actually FUN to read. If your trying to get started in OS fundamentals and such this is a great book to start with.

C is beautiful because it is so barebones. It does not hide data behind complex language feature that describe some runtime behaviour it is just bits and bytes moving around. A bit of a romanticed view but that is atleast the feeling I got

There seems to be common misconception that GDPR only applies to the geographical region that is the EU, this is false. GDPR applies to all Europeans, independent of location.

I guess it depends on what work you do. As for writing software macOS is nice since it is quite close to Linux and does contain a lot of the UNIX-thinking. Windows is, IMHO, a user experience mess. Mac is more gentle and aimed to be simple

I am writing a rendering engine that I try to keep minimal and clean while having some cool computer graphics stuff in it. Although it is in modern C++. :-) It uses a deferred rendering pipeline and currently I am trying to get light volume

Except for the fact that meat consumption is a major resoirce drain on the planet as a whole. Just think about the amount of land, energy, water, medicine and time it takes to produce one kilogram of meat and contrast this with alternative

TLDR: Databases shipped to foreign soil, used by consultants without security clearance. This seems to get a bit bigger by the day. We usually do not have scandals and such high profile activities but this is pretty huge tbh. :(
