I work for an agency that often picks up work from large agencies or in-house teams and most of the time I find myself using either Subversion or Mercurial. We use Mercurial for our own projects, but one client uses Git, which I use at home

I thought the original Roadsters were only around £70k? Aren't the new signature models the ones that are around £90-100k? Obviously, the average person isn't going to buy a roadster, but £90k is still affordable for some senior-level types

This is absolutely true. Despite what people think of Jeremy Clarkson and co the truth is that Top Gear is the most popular car show in the world by a huge scale, and it wouldn't be the first time that it has been said that the kind of powe

I expected far, far worse. In all honesty, I know plenty battle-hardened, professional contractors that don't have personal sites this good. The only issues I can point out is some HTML validation errors, mainly with header tags that don't

I appreciate that people will run XP/IE6 like an application environment rather than an OS for people to use, but by the time the new service pack hits it'll be coming up to 2014, when Microsoft officially ends support for XP, meaning those

It depends on your site. One of my clients in the legal sector in the UK and Europe still gets 4-5% of its visitors visiting from IE6. You are largely correct in the bigger picture, but it's still surprising how popular it is in some areas.

It's important to note that Google's apps do not support legacy browsers any more. Last time I checked on my VM, the main Google search engine works perfectly fine in IE6.

The answers to this question will be skewed as a lot of people on here work at startups, with no interest or need to support legacy browsers. I work at a digital agency, a lot of our larger clients still desire legacy browser support (somet

The reason why this happens to a lot of developers is because: 1) They have a LinkedIn or Stack Overflow account. 2) They have dealt with a recruiter before, either looking for work or from cold calls. I've had the (mis)fortune of both. The

I am both a front-end and back-end coder for a digital agency. We have some huge clients that require legacy browser support (IE6 and above) so it's a mix of typical front-end stuff, a ton of VM's for testing and if we're working on a new b

London will always be the exception, but given the number of user groups already held in Bristol that manage to get around 50-100+ people in a month with ease I think that Bristol would be the natural choice outside of London. Whether a HN
