Nothing is pure lua, you could probably use GObject-introspection to write a GTK app, but nobody do it.All of these apps have _some_ lua code, but it is nowhere close to 10%, I will give you that.

http://tylerneylon.com/a/learn-lua/ as simple as it can get. Lua is a very small (in term a amount of syntax) language.

But NVIDIA and AMD are not likely to make one as they would have to share less code between OS, resulting in poor drivers. They will probably make an Android-ish driver and have Ubuntu use it.

Also of Hotwire Shell/Term and KliNG from a few years back. This one look nicer. At least it doesn't make the error of the previously mentioned attempts like trying to create a custom shell instead of using regular ones. Nor it do

If the impact is big enough, the resulting worldwide earthquake and volcanic activity would destroy the colony, surface or underground. Given underground colonies _rely_ on equipment just to stay alive, the destruction of this equipment wou

Security wise and feature wise, they were. Stability got better, but even KDE2 was better at that point in time. Same goes for IE6 vs. Netscape Navigator/Mozilla Suite. Once they got to the top and locked the corporate lock, it was over. It

Why was Microsoft dominant from Windows ME to the release of Win7? Why: It is hard to break a dominant position when they enjoy 2 order of magnitude more corporate support than their closest rivals.

Dolphin is probably the best file manager out there. The grouped view and meta data sorting is something that was really missing in the old Konqueror (and every other FM on Linux). The new (4.8+) display engine speed, agility and animations

That's the controversy. I do TDD at work and I don't for my contributions. I know both quite well. Most projects have little regressions and it is hard to quantify upfront time you will hypothetically save later on, especially if all you do
225.
by Elv13 13y ago
It's free software. There is a large overhead when doing TDD. Such overhead is not practical given the low, voluntary, resources such projects get. Free software project velocity is based on contributions. If you require such contributions

In C/C++, with you use an enum type in a switch, the compiled will warn you if you are missing one. If you pass an enum type as argument, there will be a compile time check if the constant is part of the enum (you can force them, but it is

I do this all the time. I work/go to school, come back exhausted, eat, sleep until midnight, wake up, code/do homework around midnight, then go to bed again. I am not the only one doing this even in modern society. Most of my personal proje

Google provide such emulator. Ubuntu could at some point run Android apps, but they gave up before Android 1.6 was released. The problem with recent Android is that most apps require the full system with all the services / contentproviders.

Both GTK+ (broardway) and Qt (lighthouse) have some sort of HTML5 frontend. It is the most portable solution, if not a little slow. Extending the desktop can be done with some VNC+Xinerama trickery too. But it ain't easy, I will give you th
