It's strange they never directly tell you what "U Tr?" means. The table they provide is backwards for decoding this, but it looks like it means: "You there?" as in "Are you there?"

The page is just pure white for about 30 seconds before it loads for me. (Gentoo Firefox on Linux.) I don't know why but all the items on the page are positioned off page with "visibility: hidden". Anyway, in case the author

I find these kind of articles very interesting. It's interesting the play you get between "too expensive" and "worth the extra money". It's interesting to see what's considered worth the extra effort.

Interesting. I wonder if anyone will fill empty warehouses with them and just sit tight and wait until they're no longer considered currency and so can be melted down (legally)?

Whenever I see new top-level domains I can't help but think that the internet would probably be nicer without any top-level domains at all. You can still always buy a sub-domain from someone. Failing that, does anyone know if any of th

I'd assume you'd lose your domain. If you're lucky someone else might pick up the gTLD and you could probably keep it then.

A fine of 250 euros is actually pretty lacks given that they are unlikely to enforce this heavily. I would think that I and many other people would be quite happy to risk that. What do other people think?

Fair enough. Yes. I guess I guess I can understand it being nice to always use a standard time. It would be really awesome if whenever there was an advert on TV if the iPhone showed the current time. However with the scheduling of TV ads I

Hehe. Interesting and kind of strange. If it's so important that the screen-shot shows the current time when it is displayed why not just have it show the correct time with a program? It doesn't seem like that would be terribly di

I just thought I'd like to know what Hacker News thinks. Will Python 2.x ever die? I'm still writing lots of code with it and even quite a lot of new code. It's been around for ages and it feels like almost no libraries have

This is amazing. Keep up the good work. I'd be quite happy if governments would give small grants to this kind of every day useful research. I personally eat large amounts of toast so this is an issue very close to my heart. Here in th
