Is it just me or does the CEO here seem a little bit full of it? He's awfully confident about a deal that will hopefully happen in several months and will leave him, along with his investors, with a significant loss. And yet from his comm

Good point -- it doesn't remove the verbs entirely. However, it removes them from their natural place in the sentence and puts them somewhere where they're likely to be missed entirely. By front-loading the headline with only the nouns, he

One of the guidelines nearly every publication practices for its headlines is that each one should have a verb (one thing that the BBC also does well in the above examples). The verb enables a reader to quickly grasp the "action" in the sto

This is essentially data Mint publishes on its front page, and has mentioned in press releases before. I don't think that really qualifies as proprietary.

Actually, at least for me, for a while now the super saver shipping hasn't had the constraint of needing to group all your items. Indeed, they explicitly warn you that your items may ship separately (at no extra charge).

Not to be a pedant, but this post really doesn't read right when you keep using the word 'compliment' when you mean 'complement.' It makes you sound self-obsessed. That said, online friends are definitely not a substitute for real life ones

By intelligently, you mean by letting the text vanish instead of putting in a horizontal scrollbar? While this is my preferred behavior, I don't think I'd necessarily call it intelligent.

I don't agree at all. Sure, I can find out what the cheapest possible mac is easily, but how is it as a development machine? Is it powerful enough to deal with all the involved apps? How is the overall user experience from the dev side? Do

Back when I took my intro to CS class, it was taught in Scheme. I hated this at the time -- and bitched about it constantly. "When am I ever going to need this language that isn't used for anything, and that has such a fucked up syntax)))
