Sorry, but people in power are rarely in the top 5% in intelligence. However, if it was popularity then sure! Everybody loves a pretty face.

Good job to you too; annotating isn't adding, it's annotating. It serves a purpose, obviously you never learnt that in school. Ha, maybe you should have gone into a school system where the government provides free quality education? You kno

Please, quote properly. Don't hack sentences in half without even an elipsis to denote that you're altering the context. > So today it is the turn of the United States to hold this place [#1 economic power], but tommorow it might be Chi

The best advice I'd have to anyone wanting to begin a start-up here is that the RISK always has to be GREATER than the REWARD for there to be a PROFIT. RISK > REWARD = PROFIT. It's that simple. I find the saying "you can have it all" to

Probably not, but I'm used to living way more north than Montana and actually more northern than London where the time change is based on for the UK. I have to say it is needed no matter the economic effect, when for over 2 months you see n

Any simulation running neurone interactions has the ability to produce sentience without us knowing why or how it happened. However it would require a phenominal amount of processing power than the simulated 'brain' would have. Human neuron

It's also an ability to manipulate. If I downvote every 2 point story around my 2 point story, people are more likely to see mine over a possibly better story. I left Reddit because that's what happened with every story. You submit somethin

I prefer simple Ask YC's, it keeps people responding expressing something. Look at BB websites, a large number of polls is usually followed by a "Comment As To Why" afterwards. I mean what's the point of having a poll if you want comments.

Well fatigue and exhaustion are different, which I think you was hinting at. You get fatigued from running, but after 5 minutes rest you're able to run again. If you're exhausted from running a marathon, 5 minutes after you've finished runn

slicehost.com is the best I've seen for a VPS so far, $20 beginner. They also say they're negotiable on bandwidth starting at $0.30/GB, which is a bonus if you're running a popular blog and for some reason need more than 100GB bandwidth. As

Hampster powered workstations... I'm not sure if it would be a disaster for productivity because they're cute or because their poop stinks, and to power a workstation the problem would be multiplied to the 2nd or 3rd power. I'm sure someone

Hmm, I'd have thought the recordings of webcam girls and clips of porno's and people talking about sex would have been the reason. Go figure, religion doesn't censor on the basis of morals or the logic descending from their morals, but on a

I don't really get the point of the article. Mac builds sturdy laptops, and who cares if they use 5 screws or 500 screws to do it. If Macs design is inefficient and expensive then someone will trump them. However, I've had packages delivere

I'll back this up by saying my Dell Inspiron 9400 has some odd creaking in areas. I'm sure these are just from age, but firstly the cover protecting the ram is now bald because it was painted steel not anodized aluminium, which rather disap

This has to be in the top 10 dumbest things I've read online, written by a professional of course. I studied psychology, sociology and I carried on reading on them both well past finishing my college courses on them. This article is flawed

I like the idea, but I have rather odd habbits when I'm writing. I don't think many people can stand listening to one album 4 times while I'm completely zoned out from the music and haven't noticed it's stuck on loop in iTunes. I think the

IMO Brita filtered water tastes worse than the water out of the tap. My parents bemoan unfiltered water, I'm the opposite. For the life of me I can't drink filtered water because I don't find it refreshing as it taste clinically sterile.

Agreed. Electric cars need the high performance Li-Ion batteries, the 3 minutes charge = 3 hour play kind that you get in MP3 players. I mean, if they merely got it to the point where you could go to a fuel station, plug it in to charge and

Well 1 snickers contains roughly 1.1 megajoules. Say the squirrel weighs roughly 250 grams - I've never had the compunction to capture and weigh one - which would mean it would take 2.45 joules of energy to lift it 1 meter against Earths gr

Finding planets that far away is great, however I wouldn't count on life coming from what would likely be a high-end flare star, or a small sun. Either way, the habitable zone will be too close to the sun (likely 20% closer than mercury) an
