Google isn't strict enough for programming queries anymore, for example this query yields no results: "hello-world" -"hello world" It ignores the dash even though I'm using quotes.

I've noticed this on Reddit. When you submit a comment it's inserted into the page with a bit of JavaScript but when you refresh the page it's gone. Refresh the page again after a few seconds and it's there.

If you do free work for a company that hasn't been formed yet you should be part of the startup and share the wealth/risks. Only getting compensated for your work if (and only if) they ever become successful is completely unreasonable.

My Vim is highly customized so it won't be of much use to anyone else. It would be really cool if we could submit our own themes but it's probably be easier to write a plugin that opens web pages directly in Vim. Screenshot: http://i.imgur

They could create a database with hashes of these passwords and compare them with the recently leaked Gawker hashes. Not all of those passwords have been cracked yet, especially the more complex ones.

Why would "(^%$@^$%" take a minute to crack and "aaaaaaaa" 5 hours? Anyway, nice try but I don't think I'll be giving you any of my actual passwords.

I've heard this as well so I whipped up a quick Ruby script that hashes a numbers of strings over and over, let it run for a few days on a quad-core machine and found zero collisions. I tested MD5 and SHA-1. It may weaken the hash a bit but
