I'm wondering, how prevalent is DSL in the US? In France, cable is basically non-existent except in a few large cities. DSL is everywhere as legacy infrastructure and fiber coverage over the whole country is increasing at a fast rate.

Somewhat related but I feel really sad that IPv6 is so slow to be adopted. IPv4 scarcity is going to increase centralization as it’s going to cost more than ever to even operate an AS. It’s pretty much going to be impossible to run an AS as

It feels like the places where security is of utmost importance like in banking, security cards or health are the worst at doing it. At least, lack of security of credit cards is understandable as banks are profiting from fraud by charging

IHMO lying / being vague is never good when trying to educate someone. Non-technical people are not dumb and can understand what a sandbox is.

> What's so "nasty" about using ALIAS? It's a not standard and therefore, is not a generally applicable solution. When something not standard becomes common practice and is expected, here comes the pain.

You can only put CNAME records at the zone APEX if there is no other records kinds as a CNAME is supposed to be a synonymous. If you had records such as: @ IN A 127.0.0.1 @ IN CNAME example.org. The server could not answer anything se

Infinite scrolling is the worst. It’s such a pain to be forced to open all links inside new tabs as most implementations in the wild are breaking the “previous page” functionality of browsers. It’s such a joy to have to scroll down n time

I'm not, you can't do backup without replicating data, hence, if you do backup, you are doing replication.

A backup is a replication of the live dataset, although, usually out of sync to be useful when the main dataset goes bad.

There is none as the “I” in “AI” is a fallacy. “AI” is like blockchain, mostly useless technology that wastes huge amount of resources where there’s almost always better and way simpler solutions except in very marginal use cases.
