It’s a research institute so I don’t think it’s directly a government role, more like a university. I see adverts at Oxford University for sysadmins at around £45-65k so it’s on the low side for what I consider comparable jobs, but my think

The Cambridge based British Antarctic Survey group hire sysadmins which don’t look particular senior however the pay sucks which could be an issue for those with mortgages etc. £25k or something if I remember correctly.

IOHK uses Haskell in production for the cardano blockchain - I worked there for around 18 months. Irregardless of your thoughts on blockchain tech, it was really fun to work with fairly well known Haskell developers!
