I keep getting pulled toward the small internet by various forces, but I never seem to find the center of it, the place where the good content starts. I want to find the good phlogs and the secret message boards. I've connected to mode

No culture on earth is ready for the ability to directly edit the germline. It's gonna get used to try and get privilege based on appearance.

The uglyness is a feature. I wish it where all caps. You should see that line in a PR and the hair on the back of your neck should stand up and you're off to rotate that secret.

I think pseudo computing is a good way to describe phones. This is probably natural though; it was arrogant to think that the coming of the PC would make everyone into hackers any more than the wide availability of hammers has made everyone

Stack overflow is very useful if someone already asked your question back when it was still accepting new questions.

Which is an entirely reasonable move, right? I think that it came a bit too close to an 'eat the rich' moment for Google's taste.

Rowing is my favorite form of excercise, so this is an exciting product. I'm always telling myself I'll get a Concept2 when I can afford one (right now I have a cobbled together combination of two discount machines.) Can you compa

Smog is also a huge issue, so it might be a way of trying to tackle that.

It's probably more along the lines of us not being able to correctly guess who has recovered from CoVID because most people are asymptomatic.

A better comparison would be to Typescript which is a breaking change from JS but is branded differently. I'd love native typescript in the browser but browser vendors aren't going to go pushing a massive breaking change like that

I like that type hinting isn't mandatory, I don't like that it's unenforced. Gdscript is an example of a python-influenced language that does it right.

Anecdotally, the symptoms of a concussion resemble feeling sleep deprived and even the slightest adverse situation will lead to excessive stress.

Somehow Ruby manages to support unicode without requiring .encode and .decode everywhere.

Drop single equals assignment in favor of walrus, actually enforce type hints where possible, loose the GIL, get rid of bytes.

In that case you wouldn't need a compatible interpreter, you'd just specify the interpreter you want in the shebang. Python does not usually use shebangs because you're supposed to run in a virtualenv, not shebang your files

Python2 was poised to take over the world and be the next Java. 3 is losing ground to Node, Go, Rust, even Lua. 3 is a really fun and productive language to work in as long as you don't need to think about bytes.

I had this problem pre-pandemic when I wanted to avoid glare but also not freeze my face off while walking to work. The solution was ski goggles-they isolate the lense from your breath.

You absolutely can code with just a text editor and a browser. I built an entire browser RPG like that. You just don't get npm packages or Typescript, which is kinda rough.

Having to follow some sort of rule can give you just enough time to reconsider a bad decision. It also acts as a forcing function to make you read nutrition labels, which is a good habit.
