I think Freud's theories have all been pretty much considered 'surpassed' in academic psychology. I don't think they're considered valid anymore, outside of popular culture.

I think what parent means is that /astrology/, per se, is mostly consumed by women, whereas Jung's work, which can be viewed as similarly unscientific, is quite widely read by males, when compared with astrology texts.

How are public schools compared to private? Does the quality of public schools vary a lot depending on which neighborhood they're located, like in the US, or are they mostly on the same level throughout a city/state?

I'd say over 90% of people who bought cryptocurrencies have at best a half-baked understanding of the technology behind it. OTOH, you could have no understanding of the tech inside microcomputers in the late 70's and still think i

I live in Brazil, and here we often think that this kind of stuff doesn't happen in Europe, or is very, very rare. Reading the comments here about Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, I'm reminded that it isn't so.

This is semantics. In this case HN is censoring opinions right now through its moderation. Every forum on the internet censors. Your spam filter blocks others speech from reaching you etc.
