Forgive my ignorance, but could you explain a bit more why frequency scaling needs to be disabled at kernel compile time, and can't be disabled at runtime via sysctl?

There is approximately 0% chance that this is using Akamai NetStorage. No one uses this. The Akamai portion is probably just hosted on S3.

In the large earthquake in Tokyo in October, I felt the P wave, then got the alert on one of my phones, then the s-wave hit and I got the alert on my other phone (different provider). Interesting seeing the race, and I wonder how optimized

I would be really surprised if the Firefox developers refused a patch adding a new about:config setting for whatever you're talking about.

It's annoying the fastmail android app doesn't work at all offline. I'm a little surprised they haven't just bit the bullet and started paying prolexic for ddos scrubbing until they get a longer term solution in place.

For me the link on HN is to https://dns.google/ but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be to https://010.010.010.010/ (which redirects, for me). Did the admins change it?

>TRU wanted to create a barrier to new competitors rising and grabbing some or all of KB’s market share. Is this really something you normally just come out and say as one of your goals? Isn't this anticompetitive behavior?

Its pretty often that I do a search, get bad results, then add reddit and get good results, so I hope some data analyst in Google sees those as opportunities to improve.

For me, I write the trailing slash because it's easier for me to reason about mentally. It also means I don't have to context switch if I'm writing JSX or XML instead of HTML.
