Are you sure you're able to legally transmit at 1km. Had thought antenna gain + transmit power had to be around 0 dBm, at least for 434MHz. Hadn't seen the rules for 900MHz though.

From an EE perspective, benchmark tests should include power consumption and thermal profile measured by third party, calibrated equipment. There are some errors induced through the act of measuring, but power consumption and thermal profil

Mentioned previously in this thread, better is a broad term. From a customer perspective, there are thousands of use cases to look over and examine. Maybe one use case could be worth exploring and then have the concept applied to other use

The post contains a fact, but is there a recommendation? Is the suggestion to cease all electric vehicle R&D, marketing, and consumer adoption? Curious.

Agreed here. Guess I'm thinking the best way to get this functionality into homes though is with a board spin of a embedded linux platform (i.e. RPi) that people could install into a wallbox. A bluetooth speaker-like package would probably

It's ok to fail. In fact in improv, failure is an important introductory lesson. Without reducing fear of failure by actually failing, improvising would be impossible except for the bravest of souls. One basic lesson goes like this: make up

We had one particularly bad customer experience on some wireless lighting control systems (power electronics and RF in a tight package) where some nodes would randomly drop from the network and couldn't be controlled. After two sets of embe

Here is an article essentially discussing this issue: http://www.edn.com/design/systems-design/4330078/EDA-tools-f... It boils down to economics: 3rd party companies that make EDA tools for the semiconductor industry can't tweak and sell

This is a topic that comes up in improv a lot - actors want to play a character of a given background (gender, orientation, ethnicity), but don't want it to come off as offensive. The fact is, it's always possible to be offensive no matter
