I'd love to have a look at Chime as well, but unfortunately they neither offer a Linux client nor browser support.

Leaving htop running (best in background in a screen session on some server) is such a waste of CPU resources. I've already seen that multiple times and always wondered if the people don't recognize by looking at htop's outpu

All MacBooks prior to the 2015 generation and MacBook Pros prior to the 2016 generation work fine with up-to-date Linux distributions. Newer ones might still have some limitations like: - stuff might not work out of the box and needs manual

When using macOS the ambient light sensor is afaik only used for the brightness of the keyboard backlight. The brightness of the TouchBar isn't related to ambient light and just depends on the usage of the MacBook Pro. In use it's

You probably mean T1, as the repo covers MacBook Pros and not the iMac Pro. While I agree that hardware support isn't where it should, it's getting better. Hey, we even have a working driver for the internal keyboard since several

Not entirely true. The T1 also controls the FaceTime camera, TouchID and probably parts of SMC functionality (ambient light sensor), although that last one still has to be confirmed.

That should also mean doubled CPU performance which might be important for some workloads as well! Edit: From the docs: > Functions larger than 1536MB are allocated multiple CPU threads, and multi-threaded or multi-process code is needed

I can't help to think that Gitlab is more and more eating Github's lunch. I wonder why we see so little from Github to get out of that situation.

The MacBook Pro 2015 doesn't use an USB connection to connect the internal keyboard when using macOS. Instead it uses SPI. Unlike the newer MacBook Pros it still has the keyboard wired to USB, but doesn't use that because of power
