While OP makes good points, I think there is no way to guarantee data persistence on a single node. Especially with the SSDs.

If you see a market oppurtunity like this, I suggest you go for it. There are many companies which will make you a custom laptop for such a quantity. Good luck!

I would identify myself as full stack web developer, but the problems you list (apart from negotiations) sound interesting to me... What does that make me? :)

Not really, that's exactly the point. OP would be forced out of the market if that competitor produced better results. Not the same thing.

Less demanding??? I would gladly trade meetings time for hardcore programming work, anytime.

Sure, but AlphaGo will probably evolve much faster. In a few years it will run on much smaller devices, as happened to chess programs.

Sure you can. The difference is in usage pattern. If you use printer rarely, ink will dry out and you will have to clean the head (using lots of ink in process) or replace cartridge. On the other hand with the frequent usage laser printers

A bit of feedback... I usually love your articles, but I really hated this one. It is just so blatantly self-promoting it turns me off. Just something to consider... Marketing can be overdone easily.

Not sure why you were downvoted, I agree 100%. I try to use aptitude CLI for exactly this reason.

Is this installed by default on Debian? If not, then this is a deal-breaker for me. I might as well install aptitude which also provides a similar command line interface.

Why the newfound respect? I mean, do you think Apple would try to patch things up if there was no class action lawsuit?

I agree with you. I think most people think that more ingredients the dish has, the better it must be - while it is usually the opposite. Maybe it gets down to how sensitive one's taste is?

Actually, that was the reason I sold one user on OpenOffice, back then. Happy user now. :)

Maybe because, despite all the noise, e-mail doesn't need fixing? It works, and pretty well too.

I guess as a founder you were rewarded when it came to being acquired. I am not sure what position OP had but I think it accurately conveys feelings of any ordinary (but loyal) employee.

A/B testing is definitely a way to go - when you have enough users! And it only helps you decide between solutions you already have.

There is a fourth one - quality. It is important to acknowledge its existence, otherwise you can find yourself in a position where you can alter "all 3" constraints for the better at the cost of a hidden fourth one.
