I once wrote some production email handling code. It is amazing email works at all given how poorly so many servers and clients stick to the spec. It was really eye opening. Email is more duct tape and bailing wire than I’ve ever seen an

I think it helps a lot to understand why people think differently than you. People (like your parents) didn’t vote for social distancing and shutting down the economy because they are evil. They’re not deserving of hate. When this all st

I’m starting to look into rooftop solar for this reason. If nothing else it will decrease the load on the grid and cut down on emissions.

It sounds vulgar to a vast section of the world that know English slang (even if they don’t know much more than that). Changing it is a good idea.

Some people say the dark background gives them less eye strain. I prefer light backgrounds but to each his own.

I’m not sure I follow? Can you give an example? Do you means people are learning skills and moving up? That doesn’t seem like it could account for all the help wanted signs I see all over.

But don’t they have to eat and pay rent? I keep wondering where all these people that have decided previous jobs aren’t for them are getting by.

Agree completely - the video should be slowed down a lot, and less bouncy

I’ve had a worse experience - I end up looking for a solution to a problem only to find an unanswered question from years earlier, which was also asked by me back then :(

I use it and was notified of a new mobile phone subscription that was opened in my name out of state without my knowledge. The next month it happened to my wife. They were the only ones to notify us.

But isn’t the “damage” these middleware layers do actually good optimizations/features that people pay for? The ossification is the problem, not the ability to optimize IMHO.

How is that different from any other identifier? Passport, driver’s license or even just someone’s name?

Now imagine the whole country gets UBI. I don’t see how it can ever work out with this tiny example we’re seeing.

The cookie value has to be stored in some sort of map\dictionary that links to the session data. If the cookie value is a random string, you don’t need to store any more data than you would with a hashed cookie value. Or maybe I’m misunde

And this is exactly what I fear will happen if UBI comes about. Although we also can’t let people starve - I don’t have a solution :(

I had to try three or four before one helped, so my advice is not to give up too soon. Welbutrin ended up being a solution for me.

There is no advantage to farm on SSDs so if anything old HDD might find a new use.

I’ve wondered that too. If you wrote your own client you could lie about the hashes, so there must be something else to it. I have a farmer going and maybe every 10 minutes the hard disk spins up for what sounds like very little I/O
