Fair enough, although even that terse lecture hand-waved (by leaving it to a reference) about ergodic systems. I think the deeper point is along the lines of Wigner's classic "The Unreasonable Effectiveness of Mathematics in the N

Ah, of course, I should have remembered that. I don't quite see the connection, though -- unless there was a backdoor and the crackers got that backdoor password, or some such.

I totally agree, it's sad when interesting links die, and it's sad when a search term is extremely generic. Here's what I've got, pasted out of my notes: House has been successfully implemented in Haskell, I'd assum

That's fine -- but please add an "About" link that says what "urbit" is. That lack of explanation, that expectation of speaking to insiders, is unfortunately very common on web sites, not just yours. Please add th

There appears to be no "About" on that site. Who knows what on earth it is? On the left sidebar, the "documentation" link is to a video. No thanks, I'm look for a sentence of text. The next link down is a 404 error.

I wouldn't say too early. There were a fair number of temporarily successful co-processors in that general era of many different sorts; aside from float (and smaller markets for FFT chips and boards and some efforts at vector co-proces

I presume your post attracted little attention because people either didn't know what it was from the title, or for those who did, it's perhaps too familiar. So a small explanation: in the functional community it's a famous c
