jQuery 1.x is recommended over 2.x due to lack of IE8 support in the latter. If you don't have IE8 traffic on your site, you can safely go with 2.x (which isn't that much smaller to begin with).

I find this entire debate absurd. Pragmatic approach would be to refrain from using construct that are known to be controversial. By controversial I mean "there are reasons to believe that under certain conditions this may be dangerous

It's a cultural thing I guess. I know some people who think of their maternal lineage as if it were less of a family than the paternal one. Their excuse borders religion and superstitions. I'm interested though which languages dis

Depends on your code. C isn't moving at the pace C++ is so given that most (all?) of the OpenBSD base is C and sh, LTS will work with base, no problem. It's important too that developers are rather happy with what C99 brings to th

That'd be true if it weren't for a bunch of external projects that OpenBSD uses or which are hosted as part of OBSD but weren't invented by the OpenBSD folks (tmux is one such example). It all boils down to priorities: if yo

At the same time you're not grabbing a local copy of The Internetz to search them and your searches are sufficiently fast. This is not a problem of centralized (from the point of view of the user of course) VCS but quality of a particu

This is not real life, this is a workflow, one of many. It happens to mirror mine though and, perhaps surprisingly, I can easily achieve the same workflow with centralized VCS by using branches. It would be a major pain in CVS but works jus
