For what it's worth the HN algorithm is a pretty complex, so I'm still oversimplifying but ti's more about the rate a story gains score than the points themselves. You can get just 5 votes in the first minute you're up a

There's Twitter links on the frontpage of HN right now. Sure, I don't have an account but until _nobody_ interesting has an account I have to use XCancel. The UX for signed out users is deliberately bad.

It's a simple project but it doesn't have the usual AI code style to me. It reads instead like someone getting the hang of networking in C#. Incidentally, this is OP's first public C# repo. https://github.com/

Is this effectively IRC? I know it's not literally compatible but the same basic TCP for chat right? ETA: Not being dismissive! Cool project!

I recently moved to Wisconsin and decided it was only appropriate to only buy local. Sure, it tastes better but I was surprised to see it was cheaper too. I guess it doesn't matter how much of your food is plastic and sawdust if you ha

Do they still need IL2CPP if they have AOT? The goal was always to be able to have cross-platform native binaries right?

I would say the funding model is what makes the difference. Wikipedia sells information (in the form of "Donate or this could all go away") and is financially incentivized to make that information comprehensive and high quality. Y

YouTube (and really any social media) was kind of a mistake. You can argue traditional mass media was imperfect, but at least it was up to public scrutiny. An algorithm is manipulative in a much more opaque way.

Simpler and easier seems to be the answer. How much does it cost to spread 8gbs RAM across some VMs? Most providers require additional of how many VMs over how many hours, what the specs kf each are specifically, etc. Then once you have it

I feel like there's much better comparisons than WordPress if you want the #BlazingFast market. Also yeah the website is super broken. Why keep linking your admin page if you don't have demo credentials? Why link to http:/&#x

I don't work in programming, but "you can do hard things" applies to my work as well. It drives me nuts when coworkers refer to me as really smart when in fact I'm merely curious. "I have no idea how you did that!&q
