Maybe with enough traction, they'll lose out on huge contracts because of stuff like this. Seems the only way to get stuff fixed is to attach dollars to it.

I don't understand the distinction. Disney Research is inventing new filmmaking and robotics tech, in much the same way as is shown in the post. Why does collaborating with a university negate it.

Yeah, I could imagine Microsoft making a bid. To people who don't follow tech product ownership, "Windows comes with Chrome instead of Edge" would be good PR and it could basically be Edge minus the rebranding.

Getting a warning is a good thing. A lot of action is taken invisibly. My account is permanently banned for criticizing the US's anti-trans legislation. Sent messages to admins and everything, absolutely no solution but to say goodbye

Part of the problem with a directory of forkable themes like Hugo has is the security risk that comes from untrusted code. The Go templating language is pretty simple and easy to sandbox, but MKWS uses sh as the templating language so there

I mean a new CTO and a potential large investment from EU govs could work wonders for stabilizing the platform.

Good. If you look at the people who are ultra rich they ultimately seem incredibly unhappy, the richest people in the world have more than they could ever use and still aren't satisfied. This incredible amount of wealth and power comes

Maybe I'm too small in terms of traffic but I've never found Nginx/Caddy to be the bottleneck in scaling, so I have to rely on these benchmarks. In my personal opinion, even if there is runtime overhead with Caddy it's w

Caddy is great but it doesn't solve the problems of this post. Namely, it is slightly less performant in exchange for ease of use, a tradeoff the author of the original article doesn't seem interested in.

Unrelated but from that link "But why profiles? Why not just measure new user rate? Because we don't track users." is a weird thing to write after showing Monthly Active Users.

I think the root of the problem in this one is that it's named "Discord Messenger", Ripcord is reminiscent but not confusing.

Interesting to me that they just found and replaced the word "Twitter" for "X" without changing the videos that refer to Twitter, Tweets, and most egregiously removed safety features.

I'm okay with the software being made open to the public. I think ultimately it's good for society as a whole. The US is welcome to do the same (I.E. actually opening OpenAI) but I don't think the drawbacks of AI are mitigate

I feel like this would've been better as a VSCode extension. Copilot, Q, Gemini, all were able to take this approach. Also, VSCode isn't considered a full IDE and adding some AI features isn't enough to change that. It seems
