Er, no one is forcing any developer to make an app for iOS.

Saw this come a mile away when they started jacking up the subscription cost for hobbyist licenses (~late 2019 according to my emails.) Instead of being an on-ramp for their serious offerings, it was just too good and needed to be hooked up

What? How about make a product that actually works? Epic Games Store is a slog to operate, with weird UX decisions across the board. People hated Ubisoft trying to cram their platform down their throats because it was a buggy mess. People a

Apple & Google both did it, and are doing nothing to stop others from entering the (phone) market. Just because a market is hard or expensive to get into doesn't mean it's not a market worth entering. The real crux is Epic doe

There is nothing stopping the Browser from providing AAA experiences, today, other than... Most likely, only a 'good' game engine. JavaScript + WebGL are very capable, right now, and for the past ~5 years.

Epic has no interest in doing things that are for the good of average gamer. Just trying to slice of various pieces of pies, and Linux gaming is too small to care.

I wonder what the price would've been without AMD dipping their toes into the GPU market again. I very much assume Nvidia slices price, to not only compete but also crush the AMD GPU market. Nvidia's innovation is crazy huge, but

Just like Apple holds a gun to developer’s heads to develop for the iOS. Epic is at least bringing the joy of console exclusives to the desktop. Innovative!

But there are 2 stores, and you make the choice of packaging for one or the other. You can also make your own store, if you want. (In this analogy, that is. You cannot make a store inside a store, that’d be silly.) Basically, you can still

Not to whataboutism too hard, but Epic made an animated short mocking a past Apple advertisement. Further, tried to brew up a hashtag shame campaign. And finally ending with a holier than thou email over this whole ordeal. Apple is just pro

Yes. Game consoles are just as much “general purpose computers” as phones are. Volume and ubiquity doesn’t change that (modern) game consoles have the architecture required to run anything you want, even easier than needing to compile for A

I think this argument is on shaky ground when Epic Game Store can only be installed on Windows. Rocket League lost MacOS/Linux support when absorbed into the Epic Game Store. Imagine if Windows was the only way to distribute games. Fur

Developers have a choice when it comes to Apple as well. They make their software, and they chose to sell it on Android and iOS devices. Is it just because Apple is “big” and has cultivated themselves a valuable customer base the reason the

Uh oh, you used the 'steal' word when referring to digital goods. A non-insignificant group of pirates don't consider downloading content to be 'theft.'

This is a problem I've encountered on my projects. I just want to nestle them all in a `config/` folder. Alas, lots of the tools really dislike if you would like a configuration in a spot other than the root directory. Suddenly yo
