While I do have a lot of fun coding, I can't say I've ever had this experience at a paid job. Maybe if I had the opportunity to write open-source software but that seems like rather a niche career path at this point.

The metric might also be straight unreliable, either via people filing false applications to make their own look more respectable, or from LinkedIn lying about the metric to give the appearance of value added.

You'd need three types: immutable slice of an immutable array, mutable slice of a mutable array (ie basically a reference to a mutable array), and an immutable slice of a mutable array.

In my experience, JRuby is a lot easier to work with than The C version, if only because you don't have to deal with linking to a TLS/crypto implementation.

QT is probably the closest you'll get, and at that point you might as well just learn cocoa (or whatever the swift version is called these days, i forget)
