Fun fact: we already use diamonds in some thermal pastes, and they do perform pretty well, but not chart toppers.

This is an actually interesting take on the societal problem (ie, some people hate woke, some people absolutely embrace it), and based on my understanding of human behavior, this isn't actually that wrong: men and women do have diffe

It isn't the number of monitors that cause the problem, but the total bandwidth used. Depending on the generation, either equivalent to 4k 60hz or 4k 120hz kicks them out of idle. For my card, an RDNA3, its 4k 60hz; RDNA4 is 4k 120hz.

I honestly don't give a shit anymore. I have female-A-to-male-C cables, I have male-A-to-female-C cables. Some of them have the USB 3 pins (which has kind of been a niche case for C in my life), all of them are safe up to 5A power. Al

A lot of what I see in ML is all focused around Triton, which is why I mentioned it. If someone wrote a Triton impl that is all Rust instead, that would do a _lot_ of the heavy lifting on switching... most of their hard code is in Triton DS

(given the context of LLMs) Unless you're doing CPU-side inference for corner cases where GPU inference is worse, lack of SIMD isn't a huge issue. There are libraries to write SIMD in Go now, but I think the better fix is being ab

I am not a huge fan of Go, but if all the world's "serious" Python became Go, the average code quality would skyrocket, so I think I can agree to this proposal.

uv is great, but I think the real fix is just abandoning Python. The culture that language maintains is rather hostile to maintainable development, easier to just switch to Rust and just write better code by default.

Idling "gaming PCs" idle about 30-40w. Your monitor configuration has always controlled idle power of a GPU (for about the past 15 years), and you need to be aware of what is "too much" for your GPU. RDNA4 and Series 50
