The problem with using PostgreSQL was difficulty to make it work everywhere, we have at least one dev in each platform. I use the pure JS version of SQLite (sql.js in npm). The server is fairly small, having the bulk of the code in the clie

Joel's article is barely relevant now. The main problem has been layout discrepancies, and the pages were made for IE+others back then. Nowadays it's very difficult to step on something not properly supported in your target browse

This spec is almost a copy of the existing APIs but with some additions, which in my experience they were very needed. The old APIs won't stop working. If you don't want several code paths use either the old APIs or pointer even

I came here to say something along those lines. Our project has a SQLite backend for hassle-free local development, and we use Postgres in all remote servers. Tests run both in local and remote.

I think everything related to layout can be made with flexbox (e.g. you can avoid doing ugly tricks with tables, blocks, floats, calc(), calculating percentages, etc), but you still need the usual style for text, size of images, borders, ba

That's not the same as "auto play when page is visible". I don't want to manually enable every video. Also I ask because I'll make such add-on myself if it doesn't already exist.

Sorry for the off topic but.... F*CK autoplay videos! Couldn't they at least use the page visibility API (or even just requestAnimationFrame) so it doesn't start playing after I've opened a dozen tabs? Is there a Firefox add-

Incidentally I did something very similar with my private projects and I've been using it for the last weeks. It's basically Electron, with a few lines of code that runs the script you pass in the argument and opens Chrome's

The application redirects to <local https host>, and to make the certificate valid, have a wildcard *.example.com. With the DNS server you can have e.g. https://192-168-0-7.example.com/ resolve to 192.168.0.7. All of

I think it's feasible to have a domain with certificate for resolving any ip, using dnsmasq as DNS resolver for that domain, combining this https://pfigue.github.io/blog/2013/12/06/configuring-dnsmas

It's more related to the chromatic aberration, where the correction is not perfect (esp when not correctly configured) and using only one color avoid the issue. Of course the best choice is green, in resolution and brightness.

Old callbacks can call to newer versions of modified functions. The live-reloading code I made needed named functions for this reason.
