I think I read somewhere that intentionally destroying the chip is a no-no, but if you 'accidentally' hit it with a blunt object and it stops working the document is still valid. Don't quote me though.

Yea this is just smoke and mirrors to allow the 'sale' of The Pirate Bay. In reality all they're selling is the domain name.

I don't agree with these two points: | The database does not need round-the-clock availability (middle-of-the-night maintenance windows are no problem). Lots of SQL databases are part of 24/7 critical infrastructure. | Queries do not need t

Visa and Mastercard control most of all the credit card transactions in the world and they both charge merchants a percentage (e.g. 1.5%) PLUS a small fixed fee (e.g. 40c). It's that small fixed fee that makes it pointless for $1 transactio

They used omnivorous animals. Yes it's not concrete proof that it will translate to humans but if you take all the evidence together - the animal trials, the cellular-level experiments and the observations in humans - it's enough to convinc

I'm not convinced. Of course these projects are useful for some applications but most online services will never grow to the size where you HAVE to dump your SQL server for something more scalable. And in the meanwhile SQL is just sooo conv

I'd argue it's both, many employers pay more when hiring people with degrees and certainly the people who end up with a degree tend to be the kind that would end up in higher-paid positions regardless.
