A lot of people are here laughing at digg for turning this down, but hindsight is 20-20. Zuckerberg turned down $1Billion from Yahoo, and at least on paper is worth an order of magnitude more now. At the time, digg was a leader in a new tak

I think compelling user interfaces will be how a lot of new startups differentiate themselves. I came to this realization after seeing hipmunk. From a tech standpoint, there wasn't anything new. Just api calls. But the way the info was

At some level Microsoft know's they're not ideally cut out for doing this type of dynamic marketing. Which is why they put the reddit team in charge of the campagin in the first place. The admins should have made it clear in no uncertain te

Here's the link announcing they will be managing the campaign: http://www.reddit.com/r/blog/comments/depct/and_now_for_a_wo... Quote from the link: "See, Microsoft is getting ready to release Internet Explorer 9, and they reached out to u

It's trial by fire here at HN. Yeah, people can be harsh, but HNers are nothing if not practical. I'd rather some guy tell me my product sucks, here's 10 ways to improve it, rather than someone pat me on the head and commend me on a good j
