I mean, of course it is. Marketing companies have long since realized that they can have far more effective advertising by acting like humans, and that people will take a recommendation from another person more serious than a random ad. Pro

We had the same in The Netherlands. Several weather apps that requested to share all your data with a bunch of partners, had ads, etc. Then our national weather institute launched their own app without tracking or ads, and the existing weat

No-one ever really set the goalpost of the Space Race, so it can be whichever you want. I personally like to consider the Apollo–Soyuz mission as the true finish of the space race, where the two nations docked their spacecraft together, and

You're never going to get rid of bribery and corruption entirely, unfortunately. Greed is way too strong a motivator. Hopefully people actually getting arrested and charged for it makes people think twice though.

Vances speech in Munich to Europe, and Trumps apparent selling out of Ukraine. I can tell you that the media cycle and conversation here (The Netherlands) has been very much about how we can move forward without the United States. People ar

You're unsure about a product because the landing page is positive, and even go so far as to not trust the authors any more? That does sound like a strange expectation for a landing page, which is usually intended to make you want to u

Using a fine-tuned GPT-3.5 model is definitely a choice, why not pick one of the newer models? The methodology only states they use "ChatGPT" as LLM, but doesn't clarify the model until way later, nor why they picked that mod

I keep wondering what the market for general purpose devices actually entails nowadays. We see more and more applications move to the web, which means your OS doesn't actually lock users in. The only things for which your OS really mat

The production DB is MSSQL, and we scaffold it in SQLite through EF Core. The resulting SQLite DB is close enough to our production DB that we are able to catch invalid defaults, missing foreign keys, etc. in unit tests instead of later on

The code being tested also uses transactions internally at times, so it'd mean additional complexity in the code being tested to allow for unit testing, which is not great. In my experience throwing up a database including all tables i

Yeah, I ran in very much the same issues. Setting up a database for unit tests can be even more of a bother though (especially for CI pipelines, I don't want to have to run a full database there), so I took a middle road, and use my OR
