Let’s start with the fact that you’re talking to an HTTP api… Even if S3 had web3.0 inodes, the querying semantics would not make sense. It’s a higher level API, because you don’t deal with blocks of magnetic storage and binary buffers. Of

I've also been using a Ryzen7 mini-pc, it spins up the fans when maxes out, but doesn't sound or behave any different than any laptop, except its a box. It's actually very quiet most of the time, until I have to process a pho

I just don't understand why everyone loves f-string so much . I do understand they might be better than + op? Perhaps. I've always liked .format method. You separate your template from your input data, and you can choose when the

One of my all time favorite sites on the interenet, I am glad there is an archive version. IRC and being ASCII only had their benefits. These days, Discord displacing IRC, for most people who even have PCs, there is a much different vibe of

That gave me an idea, here is what I got from Copilot: You have set up your system to run different AI models and compare their performance using a text editor. You are using Mixtral-8x7, a high-quality open-source model developed by Mistra

Of course you can run half a CPU at home. With Ubuntu LXD, you can easily run actual, hardware 50% cpu time, or .5 priority container. Why wouldn't you be able to have complete control over what "microscale" tasks you run on

Right, the local internet can always be an issue too. I think you have a good example of something with high uptime requirements. I get that, but I was kind of wondering specifically why Postgres's downtime would have any significant i

I think I understand the use case, and effectively you're sharding the data with SQLite. This approach is applicable with multiple databases/datastores. However, would you really change your approach if PostgreSQL could be upgrade

I’d be pretty delighted. I’m paid for getting projects done, not for keeping hold on some copyrighted code. I want all my code to be open sourced, and reused.

I wouldn’t be so harsh, as to call it gross, but I also much prefer Python, because Ruby reminds me of Perl. It feels clever, but not in a way that I expect to shorten its BNF. It still bugs me a bit, that ruby has pascals ‘end’, and Python

I've never thought UUIDv1 was useful in any virtualized context, and I hope it should be obvious, but maybe it's worth stating in the UUID generation docs. It is already explained somewhat well what the versions are in Python docs
