Not a single Stanislaw Lem novel? Why is this so typical of USA sci-fi section? His 'Fiasco' is one of the most thought provoking books I have ever read.

A lot of Androids are getting replaced with iOS this week. Are you aware it is also hybrid of Mach microkernel and POSIX apis?

So, you don't find it bitterly ironic that Symbian was replaced by a hybrid kernel based OS (NT) instead of a monolithic one?

Thanks, that's pretty awesome. However, I was talking about attacks relying on non-constant time memory copy or math function that is used to somehow defeat a server or cryptography.

But there is a whole range of potential issues. Or things compiler developers can do. As any task, they should be sorted, weighted by ease of exploitation and ease of solving. What I suspect, and I'm just curious to see if I am wrong,

Every time I read one of these posts about a clever "attack vector", how something can be gleaned from this special register, or a timing attack, somesuch, I remember about a theory that the sound of a dinosaurs scream can be extr

Who's going to work on that, and most importantly bless it as official and unite people? I haven't seen anything from Guido on the criticisms of Python 3 and CPython, like this post and other unicode complexity complaints in Pytho

I tried it, and actually don't like the narrowness. It's less readable to me. Also, the light version isn't nearly as sharp as Source Code Pro Light. I think I will be sticking to Adobes font as my favorite...

It's probably because c++ is arguably even worse (harder, with speed advantage to be fair). I haven't seen anything worse than MFC/boost 300 level underscore filled template stack trace, in any language.

Is it worth it if you have a US specific website that doesn't get that many users (~3 sessions at once)? Also, another website I administer has a lot of user uploaded content that's constantly changing. I've not dealt with a

It's a pity some people downmod for expressing opinion. It's not like you were offensive making a point that too short can be less readable, not more.

I use underscore a lot in JS but never felt the need in Python. In the examples given, I'd rather see explicitly what the exceptions being raised are, or the comparisons.

I don't think OpenGL or D3D or 3D programmers deal with 'parallelization' much. There are very common things that have to be done that in reality are mathematically parallel, but are basically one unit in the API, such a text

I don't think it's as much about ease of implementation as it is about the finality of it and formal verification of completeness of any implementation. But of course, those are very much related :)
