I like the idea a lot actually. Using Apple's frameworks for web apps could indeed be useful. I just wonder to what user numbers such a service would scale, given Apple's limited hardware offerings. Didn't Apple promote using VMware boxes o

I guess on Linux (or any POSIX OS) it's not really necessary, since everything should still be fixable from the terminal. However it reinforces the notion that someone who can't use the terminal (= 99% of users probably) should stick to W

It's always amazing to me to read about all those promising projects from Microsoft research groups, yet none of it seems to make its way to paying customers. I still remember the courier as well as that zero lag touch screen demo - super i

Could you comment on the points that have been made about removed features in nautilus and things like removing launchers? I'm not a heavy linux user myself but those issues stroke me as very significant, to the extent that I would never to

I think part of the reason is that you can now read much smaller text, so you don't have to fiddle around the zoom level all the time. The chrome and top menu could be a bit smaller but it's not really a bit issue for me when browsing. For

May I ask you whether you have ever sat with one of those 'retina' devices (I know you don't like the word, but there isn't really a better way to put it) for some extended time, say >1h? If you had, and your eyesight is normal, I can

I don't think this question is a good example of being culturally linked. Rather it asks for knowledge about the world you live in. What characteristic of an animal do you think is most important? - that it's koscher? (very cultural) - the

There is certainly something to what you say. The advantage of the GPU model is that you can have the ALUs occupying a much higher percentage of your die if each core is less independent. Independent threads is not necessarily what you need

I've done my master thesis on GPGPU, so maybe I can help out a bit. I'm not yet too familiar with Epiphany's design however. From what I could grasp what sets them apart the most is a different memory architecture compared to multicore CPUs
