Perfect security doesn't exist; the goal is to reduce the area of the attack surface. The class of attacks you're talking about is different than the class of attacks an out-of-process keyring protects against.

I knew someone who had a vicious dog. Over the years, that dog attacked, sometimes seriously injuring, dozens of people and other animals. One day, the dog bit off the tip of the owner's finger, unprovoked. He was put down shortly ther

In the mid to late nineties, before Jobs returned, Apple stuck to polishing OS9 Correction: Apple didn't release OS 9 -- or even OS 8 -- until after Jobs returned. Perhaps you mean System 7? Actually, Apple barely made any progress

This article, like nearly all on the topic, ignores the distinction between correlation and causality. Of course those who attend college, particularly a prestigious one, earn more. How much of this is due to college as a symptom of their c

I was expecting John von Neumann to be listed as the inventor: The system also includes a processor for executing the computer executable instructions, and a memory for storing at least the computer executable instructions.

My point is simply that you can't subtract the velocities of the two planets and call that your delta V. Delta V is the amount of actual powered acceleration your rocket does, which is only very indirectly related to the differences in velo

Most of the "velocity change" in your math is done by the Sun as heliocentric potential energy converts to kinetic energy or vice versa. The minimum energy trajectory from Earth to Mercury is about the same delta V as Earth to Mars. The pro
