There's no problem. But sometime around 2003 it became trendy to do all layout in CSS, even when a table or a <center> tag would do just fine.

What BinRoo called "parameters" are usually known as "hyperparameters" (parameters are the settings that are learned through gradient descent). There are methods to learn hyperparameters automatically [1], but they'

He didn't say he found it personally challenging. He said this part of optimization finds itself at the intersection of three deep fields of human knowledge. That is undeniably correct.

It's worth noting that if P=NP, then there's already a known (though highly impractical) algorithm which can solve any given NP problem in polynomial time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P_versus_NP_problem#P

To me what's surprising is that they allowed tours at all, and sometimes even let you see the command center. Or maybe this was all part of the plan to make the nuclear deterrent credible.

There is still an open debate among statisticians as to whether employment of statisticians by tobacco firms causes statisticians to disbelieve in tobacco-caused cancer.

I was wondering that myself. I'm sure this is wrong, but I want to believe it's what food sometimes becomes after being eaten. In which case this is a patent filing for a barf bag.

A reason to dislike computer-generated proofs: The point of mathematics is not just to know whether some proposition is true, it's to understand the mathematical objects under study. A beautiful proof sheds light, it explains why .

I often use copy/paste to prevent typing errors. I save the password in some keychain software, then I copy/paste the password from that software into one of the password fields, and type it myself into the other.
