Being a web dev, I tend to keep a collection of browsers open all the time - Chrome for email, twitter, calendar, bug tracker etc. Firefox for development (Firebug FTW). Midori for state-less browsing (it empties caches and data when restar

I moved a couple of thing that were tools on my own site onto their own domains. Both just fun projects, but still, they made it out of my brain and into the world :) http://www.mathaversaries.com/ http://www.readability-score.com/

I use them a fair bit. Enough that I released a set of them on my site ( http://www.addedbytes.com/cheat-sheets/ ) and then made a site for other people to build them ( http://www.cheatography.com/ ). :) Certainly not a sign of ineptitu

Not quite yet, but early days for my projects: http://www.addedbytes.com/projects/ I'm working hard on the top three, and aiming to start making some real money out of them by the end of summer.

Hi ishi. Glad to hear you like the idea :) Thanks for letting me know about the filename issue. I'd not spotted that. I've changed the filename to something more useful!

I don't think so, no. Why should a person or company be financially punished for doing nothing wrong? Your suggestion means that if you are sued and pay for a decent lawyer to defend you, but your opponent pays someone dirt cheap (or no-win

The risk is that it's not just the domain name at stake. A lost court case can result in an order to pay the opposition's costs. For a large legal team, that can be expensive.

I have some experience of a similar situation, having at one point run a web dev blog at ilovejackdaniels.com, before the JD legal team contacted me ... and I'm on a new domain now. The problem, as explained to me by a lawyer (I am not a la
