not really but a good read I never really thought about how many reads and writes there were. However I suspect that twitter profile pages and user pages do not hit the database much and most likely store the data for these pages as xml.

I like the idea but it will just end up with tit for tat down modding. It would only work if the down modders idenity was hidden from the person. I actually think you should get a point for commenting in the first place, this might get more

I dunno, I use plenty of web apps for running my business that are a lot better than anything I have found for the desktop. Also they saved me when I switched to the mac as I didn't need to look for a new version.

if this is asp.net then learn html and mark up the designs. That will free him up more than having to work with your code. I love it when working on a project and someone hands me great xhtml and css and I don't have to think about that sid

I think web based start ups could be massive in the under-developed world. They don't have the infrastructure as more developed nations. Look at Estonia they have moved most of their infrastructure online and its working well for them(well

I looked at that but you can't really get any feel for audience size from Technorati. If you could mashup a service like compete.com with Technorati then you would no doubt have a powerful tool. I was thinking of hiring someone to get start

I think a TC post is worth nothing to most startup unless 1. you are targeting thier audience 2. you are after hype to get some VC's interested 3. you are targeting a mainstream audience and hope that other bloggers or mainstream media will

its a good deal for stockholders I think. If you read the hype Yahoo is not doing to great(which I find hard to believe as they make a load of cash). I think the combined search powers could be really good.

yep it would be fairly simple to do. The problem with this method is IE6 does not support it and if you are doing client work they are not going to like the fact that it does not work on IE6.

yeah good point I missed that. good for a ballpark figure. however people should be going a little deeper than this when they start. could be good for startups to get a quick number for the amount money they need to have.

I am looking forward to the next release, this one ain't great. MS MVC should go further than rails and will no doubt scale without much hassle. I wish they would just do a standard release of ruby.net in visual studio. yeah there is Ironru
