I'd say it's better than Windows for a regular user that does some internet browsing, media and some spreadsheets. The problem comes with niche software like Photoshop, video editing, music production, gaming to some degree, etc.

Linux desktop is like democracy, it kind of sucks but is way better than the alternatives.

Yeah, I think the psychological effect it produces is so strong it influences us without even knowing it's psychological. We've all heard people say "don't even talk to me until I have my coffee". It's not that

I remember I used to have headaches on holidays. It was frustrating. I was ok at work but not when I had free time. Then I realized I drank a lot of water at work but not enough at home. The relief was pretty quick after drinking. Now I alw

> Is it possible to have a "healthy" amount of playing? Yes, it is but for some of us it isn't. I can't do it. I've been trying for years. I don't consider myself a gamer as I don't play games

Without free software we would be in the hand of a couple corporations with nowhere to go. So yes, I believe in GNU's Free Software.

This is a feature. Web browser updates are some of the most important updates on your device. Getting any lay person to update their browser is difficult. A feature that keeps breaking my work every couple of weeks. It doesn'

I can't believe how bad Samsung has become. You pay them extra to avoid "Chinese brands" and you get ads everywhere, bloated devices with very bad performance. I'm still using a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition and even if

To add more data. Only 30% of the people younger than 35 have their own house, down from almost 60% in 2004.

75% down from 80%. Millennials are not buying anything. They can't. The very few I know who have bought a house is either because they had help from their parents or bought an old house in small towns far away from everything.

Minecraft but playing with a purpose, Build this, build that, make this farm, automate this, etc. Factorio. And if they can handle something more hardcore, Unreal World and Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead.

Yesterday I couldn't get to sleep thinking I'll never be able to buy a house. IT salaries in Spain are higher than most but not enough to buy anything. At the rate I'm saving money I'll be able to get a loan in around 8

I love htmx. It allows me to write code on the server and forget about most of the boring client stuff. If you're a PHP dev check Yoyo Framework. It's like Laravel Livewire without all the bloat from Laravel.

Apparently it works with some files. I downloaded a .torrent file and the download prompt showed up. It doesn't work with images, videos, spreadsheet files, etc.

It just doesn't revert to the old download. As I said, the first thing I did when I saw the release notes was checking how to go back to the old settings. I tried that on 2 computers, both using linux (Ubuntu and PopOS), without any lu

Because you don't see the spiritual part of it, only how it's being used as a way for people to grab power and wealth.

Same here. To me it's starting to feel like Windows several years ago. Features that don't bring anything new to the table but pushes their own agenda. I've been using linux for years now and I can't be happier but I can

I wish they put some effort into making Firefox better. To me, lately Firefox has been a pain in the ass to use. Regular silent updates that forces me to restart the browser and close all my work. Saving my session doesn't always help

I remember using it years ago to be able to point from the outside to a dynamic IP. I used an old Android phone with their app to keep the IP updated. Like the old no-ip but without a PC.

Vitalik Buterin, just to mention one. He tweeted his support to Ukraine. "Ethereum is neutral but I'm not". I'm not saying it was him but it could be. And 80 BTC to him it's peanuts.

Back when the USSR fell they barely could maintain their own stock. I read somewhere that the US even gave them money to keep the nukes safe.

That was my point. They know the money you make, they can make it free and easy but they don't want to cut the middleman.
