hooks were created to replace the functionality of mixins, not necessarily to replace lifecycles The react team could have easily added a useDidUpdate() and useWillMount(), but they didn't because the new abstractions cover the mixins

One funny thing about React is that the most dangerous kind of developer is the one with middle-level knowledge of it beginners don't know enough to do optimisation seniors know enough that they only optimise what is needed mid-level a

This is partly why browsers and javascript got so much traction. Also why I expect webassembly to eventually be the default compilation target. Who knows WASI might evolve to be that de-facto OS API layer From wikipedia: Solomon Hykes, a co

that was true a while ago, but react-native-web works pretty well these days. You do need to write your code react-native first though (ie your code is react-native and react-native-web adapts it to work in the web) but a lot of things are,

funnily enough there are plenty of coding necessary to get around relational database limitations in large-scale projects. If anything low-code and no-code tools increase the demand for coders even more because more projects become possible

of course it is a balancing act, plenty of companies use no-code or low-code tools for limited small-scale uses. Classic one is CMS, few companies have legitimate reasons to build their own custom CMS instead of using a SaaS one. You need t

These kind of no-code or low-code tools are VERY common in enterprise, like SAP, Salesforce, CMS solutions, IBM Tivoli products, and on and on. But companies are starting to realise that those tools often have some hard limits on what you c

airtable is a thing, thing is as these tools get more powerful they also become more complicated to use. It gets to the point you need one (or several) specialists in the tool to do the work and then you might as well build a custom system
