I've seen calendars use this format, but why? To me it would seem not to line up with how we treat our weeks? We talk about the work week as a contiguous block, and the weekend the same way, so why split one of those blocks over two ro

All this discussion, and I'm over here simply being mock-annoyed that Sunday is being listed as the first day of the week. I know it's a personal choice, but why do some people think the week starts on a Sunday? I'm curious a

A big +1 for risky business - I've been listening to Patrick's podcast for well over five years and will happily advocate for the quality of the coverage.

We should all strive to be a little more like Bob Ebling. I greatly respect and admire his dedication to the safety of those on board the Challenger, and it makes me proud to be an engineer. The sad passing of Mr Ebling deserves far more co

I believe the power requirements have actually jumped to 2.5A for the charger (~12.5W). I'd be surprised if the Apple 12W charger couldn't power one of these without issue for most use cases (2.4A, vs 2.5A reference charger). I c

Oracle in general is overdue for a re-design. Outdated thinking and design is present in almost all of their products, but I understand a fair portion of that comes from legacy debt. If Oracle started to pay off that debt, then they might

900MHz seems a curious choice to me as an Australian, because I know my mobile phone uses 850 and 900MHz to talk to the mobile towers. Attempting to use 900MHz for wifi wouldn't get you very far due to all the interference.

Fight Club 5 on iOS is pretty good, I'd recommend trying it out if you have an iPhone/iPad. A bonus nicety is that it can back up to iCloud so you can sync between devices easily (and without a service that might one day go down).

I've done this in a non-professional environment to allow my partner to understand what I do. We used a whiteboard to draw a flowchart of the logical steps needed to make Tetris work, then wrote pseudocode for those modules.

Non-mobile version: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duga-3 I remember reading about this and being astounded at the transmission power. 10MW is a phenomenally strong broadcast power.. Amazing.
