Good riddance. The last time I watched TV with ads was for the superbowl, and even those nicely produced ads I found absolutely grating. There's no way I can go back to ads between tense moments in TV shows. It's like seeing the i

Exactly same case here - we're using Athena (packaged presto from AWS) and have a Postgres instance w/ identical data in a different data model. Presto is mindblowingly good at the low latency queries and scales well to anything n

For what its worth, SFO does not use the TSA [0]. The posted article does not mention the TSA at all, only Border Patrol and Customs agents. I've had terrible TSA experiences at other airports, but never a problem with the security at

Being charitable here, it may be that this exploit showed a breakage in their internal API security process, or an edge case previously unhandled. Perhaps FB had to run an internal audit to find any other endpoints effected by this bug. Bu

Then again, ELB was amazing a few years back when the tooling for dealing with AWS/GCP/Azure was not as mature. ELB wrapped a huge percentage of the use cases (webapps) in one or two configs. Sure, now there's a ton of better

We use Athena for all our robotics data, which we ETL into JSON. It's fantastic for queries that are simple time-slice queries, as most are because sensor data is inherently time-series. When more complicated joins are necessary, the p
