I have spent almost no time on other people's payrolls (other than 1Y as part of a buyout) and have made it to semi-retirement with money in the bank, so avoiding 9-5 absolutely can be done.

We basically already have this in the UK, and is is helpful. But we still waste too much! One of the local groups that I work with (ish) saves huge amounts of stuff from supermarkets regularly that would otherwise be discarded.

Also interested for ex.net, which I now have available for sale. My previous contacts have gone quiet, and I haven't gotten sensible answers from other sources. And the 'auto' value estimates have a range even wider than yo

All the hurdles together generally worked: I doubt that CAPTCHA on its own is enough these days.

I have essentially never[0] had open comments on any of my own[1] sites since ~1995[2] since it is too much work to prevent and always has been. [0] For a brief interval I did try. [1] With CAPTCHAs and other complex rules such as manually

Read the actual article. It is closed loop. No CO2 leaves the system.

"Mind blowing" is hype. Especially at 20MW proposed capacity, for a plant not yet built. CAES (compressed air energy storage) is already a thing, and this is an interesting variant.

At least it shows something sensible without explicitly enabling JavaScript, though I see stuff is being held back by NoScript. There was some flickering / redrawing / relayout as if you did not have width and height (and/or

I assume that (most) pagers are still receive only, so cannot easily be tracked, for a start. (They were r/o when I last used one well over 20Y ago.)

No. That was to do with manipulating header content to break cyphers. Compressable bodies that cannot be influenced by a counterparty should be compressed.

Yes, indeed. And accept at least gzip compression on the client side! https://www.earth.org.uk/RSS-efficiency.html

I really hope not, given that that very old Solaris compiler should have been laid to rest many many years ago. Yes, some of my stuff had kinda made it into BarCap (even onto my desktop dev machine!) when I turned up there later, and even

Indeed. I am very happy with some of the tricks that I developed (speeding up, and indeed allowing, Solaris C++ linking by prefiltering on MD5 hashes of canonicalised .o files -> nm, anyone?) even though they were lost without trace (ye

I also don't drive much either, though I can. I suspect that you have a very narrow view of what are the realities and priorities for all the people that develop software all over the world. That or you should maybe rein in the hyperbo

I can't really touch type. I have been a successful dev in finance (plus serial start-up founder) and retired early, and I am now doing a PhD. IMHO touch typing is clearly not essential . One reason I can't is because I spent a
