I had PILES of CD-R and CD-RW from the turn of the century that are coasters now. Stored in the dry and dark...just absolutely unreadable. Oddly, the photo CDs I got professionally written were great.

I think Denver's status as a hub for IT, Telco, Aviation/Aerospace may skew things a bit, but the town is _lousy_ with Tesla products. Cybertruck included. And I think this period of time is going to be underscored by the guilt of

I'm going to disagree. Moving to x86 moved to native windows compatibility speeds and was a massive boon to our security team. We could interact with everything in our Windows environment, use FOSS tools natively, and the support for b

I figured this was going to be about Parrots and I got excited, because I have 3 of them and they're great when they're not being annoying...adorably. Then I see these aren't parrots, and that's cool too, because birds -

I've been buying and restoring older stuff (2013 Mac Pro most recently, recapped a Mac SE before that) and I think you just gave my 99 4/a new life. Thanks for that!

I have one. It was the first computer that was completely mine. I was disappointed in what the embedded basic could give me...it was slow, it had sprite-only graphics exposed (couldn't draw a vector from X,Y to X,Y) and my parents only

I'm fully straddling both. I loved successfully recapping a Macintosh SE and restoring a Lathe from 1964. I was mentally counting the execution threads in the processors in the house, got up into the upper 50's and chuckled going

It's a common feeling to think the people that came before you were somehow less smart and talented. When my now grown kids were younger, I pulled the back off a cassette tape player. The belts and gears and cams and the like were comp

I use gloves when chopping up peppers. Don't want that capsaicin getting under the fingernails and then anywhere else mucosal membrane. Which is to day: It'd be good for bags you don't want to handle very much.

It's why I typically travel by RV whenever I can. ;) It's not fast, but it's a clean bathroom, great beer, and a really big suitcase I don't have to unpack.
