That NUC looks like it would be SO close to my needs...but the need pushing a new, small, quiet computer into the living room is VR...and I don't think it would quite do that. (Perhaps a TB3 dock to a gtx1070?) I'm not ever sure i

But every time they took something away, it felt like they were giving you something in return. (Store your music library in our cloud, let your whole family access all music for $15)

The Poindexter in me thinks he needs a mail relay with a whitelist. Everything in the whitelist gets through (plus some keyword), everything else gets a reply with "If you saw my email in $DEVICE, please contact the manufacturer, if yo

I'm not seeing it on their website...and there are several multi-interface open source routers out there...but when I checked last, they were in the $200+ range...an rPI would have more than enough HP to handle the job...it just doesn&

Sure wish they'd roll out something with two (possibly three) RJ-45's. Gig ethernet is nice here, but if they had multiple ethernet, they'd crack the SOHO firewall market WIDE open.

Compounded with the current (IT) expectation that you should do and be everything for your job. It should be the first thing you look at when the alarm goes off, and the last thing you look at when you go to bed, and at 2pm on Saturday...wo

Compounded with things like 3d printing...e.g. Our shed came with 6 plastic hangers and 36-ish slots for them. A few minutes with a CAD package and I'm printing out a bunch more at a unit cost of $.18 a piece...if I upload the model, a

The direct drive extruder would allow the use of flexible filament as well. While they're similar weights, the metal printer will be much more dimensionally stable than wood.

The only downside...well _a_ downside to this: I repurposed my Vsphere machine for games. Do you have any idea how long it takes to update 4 year old Windows 7 install media enough that it'll take SP1, IE11 and qualify for the win10 up

I'll vote for (yet) another Mac. I bought a retina 15 with my accrued leave when I left my last job and my current job bought me another. Neither, with varying workloads and duty cycles has ever left me wanting. My hackerness leans mor
